I am a happy, well-adjusted, kind-spirited, compassionate, super proud mother, who is a solution focused motivator. I love to enjoy life and to find things, people and experiences to feel thankful for. I love to feel good, and when others feel good, I feel even better.
Growing up in the pacific northwest, Portland, Oregon, my home life felt great and supportive. We had the usual chaos a home with three kids created. Since I was the youngest, with two older brothers, I felt most happy following them around and reporting to my parents what they were up to - which of course, was a nuisance to my brothers.
Outside my home was where I felt the daily challenges of navigating a white-dominated society, that did not approve of my multi-racial ethnicity. I was adopted at five weeks old and never felt adopted. My white family was and is my family.
One of the major factors that helped me survive and heal was that my father, of German and Jewish descent, experienced discrimination while growing up in Chicago. From living through his own exclusionary experiences, he had a sensitivity and a compassion for what I would go through in life. He understood how painful it felt to not be accepted in his own community for something he had no control over.
I have always felt passionate serving others. Teaching is my background, which has felt fun and exciting for me. From babysitting and individual tutoring, to teaching in the classroom and group settings at church, to summer camps and coaching soccer, swimming, softball, track... it's felt fun to work with kids thru adults. I love that I have taught nearly all my friends' children how to swim and/or be safe around water.
I love sports, traveling and hanging out with my family and friends. I love my relationship with God and do my best to extend the love to others that He's given to me.
Thank you for stopping by my site. I hope that my story... my experiences shared within, will in some way, be a blessing to and encourage you. We all have purpose. If mine was to create this site just for you, then it is well worth it and feels good to me. You are important, and you are valuable.
